Keep starters simple. Choose a selection of marinated vegetables, olives, seasonal fruit, and high-quality meats and cheeses, and arrange them artfully on a serving platter. 

Antipasti Platter

Serves 4

1/2 lb. assorted deli meats (Genoa salami, prosciutto, mortadella, bresaola) 

1/2 lb. assorted cheeses

8 oz. jarred roasted red and yellow peppers

1/2 lb. red and yellow cherry or pear
tomatoes

1 baguette or assorted rustic breads, sliced

8 oz. mixed olives

4 oz. Marcona almonds or other roasted nuts

1. Arrange meats, cheeses, peppers, tomatoes and bread on a serving platter.

2. Place almonds and olives in small bowls and serve alongside platter. Serve immediately.
