Either wild blueberries or huckleberries can be used in this tart, slightly sweet and refreshing smoothie. Dense antioxidant polyphenols give this drink its rich purple color.
1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries
1/2 cup ice
1/2 cup blueberry nectar
1 Tbs. chia seed
Combine all ingredients in a high-power blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Drink immediately.

Wild blueberries contain phytochemicals that help to alleviate hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and improve metabolism. Wild blueberries are preferable to cultivated (common) blueberries, as they have a richer flavor and twice the antioxidants.
