Golden Milk

Golden milk — also known as Turmeric Milk — is touted for its many health benefits and often used as an alternative remedy to boost immunity and stave off illness. This warm beverage is perfect to drink before bed.

Golden milk is made from turmeric, a sweet-and-bitter root that can reduce inflammation, enhance proper functioning of the liver, boost brain health, and clear out toxins.

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • ½-inch by 1-inch piece turmeric root, grated
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of cardamom
  • 1 tsp. ghee
  • 1 date, soaked overnight and pitted

Combine all ingredients except the date in a small saucepan and warm on medium-low heat for 10–15 minutes until the mixture comes to a gentle boil. Remove from heat, strain, and pour into blender. Add date and blend on low, then high, to create a foamy, frothy head on the milk. Pour into cups and serve.
